2010 - 2011 Company

Angela’s passion for dance began at age seven when she joined her first modern dance class. Quickly discovering her love of movement and performance, Angela quickly filled her schedule with jazz, modern, hip hop, ballet and lyrical classes and jumped at every opportunity to be on the stage. At age fifteen, Angela was accepted into Danzmode Productions Semi-Professional Company, where she trained extensively in jazz and technique as well as taking part in the half-day ballet program. As a part of this company, Angela had the opportunity to travel to and compete in various conventions including New York City Dance Alliance. Angela now shares her passion for dance with her students at North Shore Academy of Dancing, where she teaches jazz, hip hop, modern and broadway classes. When she’s not in the studio, you can find Angela cheering on the BC Lions football team, as she is a member of the Felions Dance team.

Amanda is an emerging artist, whose foremost passion in life is to dance. Classically trained in ballet and modern dance, Amanda is known for her precise technique, commanding stage presence, and fluidity of movement. Her repertoire has expanded over the years to contemporary, jazz, hip hop, latin ballroom and salsa dance. She has trained with the likes of Karen Kain, Veronica Tennant and Margie Gillis, and has won numerous awards and scholarships both locally and nationally, including a full scholarship to the Banff School of the Arts and a Richmond Arts Council top scholarship prize in dance. Amanda feeds her soul through movement, loves to use her body as a form of expression, and is excited to share her passion with diverse audiences.

Hayden is a rising professional artist, just a few years after finding his passion for dance he has shot into the industry with amazing talent and adaptability. He started off, as an urban hip-hop dancer and Bboy, were he got his first taste of performing in shows and music videos. Wanting to open up the whole world of dance he has moved into training in ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary. He has trained in Drive Dance Center’s “Scholarship Program” which has propelled him further into the dance world. Through this training Hayden has heightened his abilities and is being recognized for it. Since starting his pursuit as a professional dancer, he has gotten to work and train with many internationally known professionals such as, Martha Carter (mmHOP), Jojo Zolina (OTI/La Douche), and the New Pornographers. Also by being part of two local dance crews, Style-O-Phonics and FlowEthics, which have given him the chance to perform and many reputable shows, For the Luv of it, I Heart Van Art, Vanoc Snow Hoppers, and Unrated, Warner Bros. Media event. Along with his training, Hayden has been noted for his freestyle and choreographic abilities. His musicality and versatile style stands him out above the crowd, were he can adapt what the music is telling him, and share that story in his performance. With all this Hayden has quickly risen in the dance community, and is becoming and well recognized face.

Starting on the urban side of dance in breaking and hip hop, Hayden got his first exposure to performing. Showing his talents in venues all over Vancouver at events like the 2010 Winter Olympics, and music video’s such as the New Pornographers, and working with his two crews FlowEthics and Style-O-Phonics. Since then Hayden has trained in numerous other styles from ballet and jazz to salsa and ballroom, but has fallen in love with contemporary. Getting to work with many different companies like Move the company, 605 collective, and MartaMartaHop, Hayden has truly found a second passion in dance. Getting his first break out contemporary performance in “Box4” with Kinesis Dance Somatheatro, he got to show his talents in Europe. Stepping into the world of choreography Hayden focuses on performance quality and musicality. While combining his loves of hip hop, contemporary and isolation, Hayden is stepping out as a unique and one of kind dancer.

Casey Harrison was born and raised in the heart of Vancouver, Canada. She has studied and danced all over the world. Her love and passion for dance has allowed her to obtain principal and supporting roles in various performances and and music videos including artists such as Ash Koley and 16mm. She has trained in a variety of styles such as hip-hop, Tap, Ballet and Ballroom. In 2010, Her dance crew, Volume One, Competed at the Canadian Hip-Hop Championships and placed 3rd overall. Casey has been noted for her freestyle abilities and has a great ear for music. Her work ethic and focus during class and performance time is a great asset to anyone she is working with. She is looking forward to a lifetime of dancing and hard work.

Lauren Rose is an emerging dance artist/ performer who is known for her classical technique and diversity. Growing up in the lower mainland, Lauren has been training and performing since the age of five. She started her dance training in Abbotsford where she first found a love for ballet. Although, as her passion for dance increased, Lauren also began training in styles such as: Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Ballroom, Hip-Hop, Modern, Tap and Acrobatics. As a dancer, Lauren has had the opportunity to train and perform throughout B.C, as well as internationally, in Germany. Lauren is currently training at “Drive Dance Centre” where she has been training with members of “Move: The Company”, “605 Collective”, “CoreDance Productions”, “Marta Marta Hop”, “Underground Circus/Ruckus Dance Co.” and “Vancouver Academy of Ballroom Dance”. Some of Lauren's experience includes Ash Koley's “brighter at night” music video, “For The Luv Of It”, “Songs, Strings and Steps” and “The Arty Awards”. Lauren is excited to see what the future brings as she becomes a more active part in the lower mainlands dance community.

Hannah Henney first entered the dance scene in a Port Coquitlam studio at the age of 2. She hasn’t stopped moving since. Now after years of classes, competitions, conventions, and workshops with the likes of Blake McGrath, Mia Michaels, Louis Van Amstel and Tabitha and Napoleon she is an aspiring dance artist in the westcoast community. She is a well rounded performer strong in many different styles from ballet to hip hop and has received scholarships to a myriad of dance events. Hannah has traveled to Orlando Florida to perform at Universal Studios with the Extreme Team and has worked with members of Move the Company and 605 Collective. She was featured in the 2010 Triple Threat brochure and appears in Sony recording artist Ash Koley's music video “Brighter at Night”. Despite her young age, she has over a decade of experience performing live in the lower mainland and has been recognized for her dance ability as well as her choreography. Hannah loves sharing her passion for the performing arts. She was born to dance.

Keilani is a classically trained, multi-faceted performer who has recently moved from Northern BC to explore the performing arts in Vancouver. Her repertoire includes ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, stage, and ballroom with an extensive background in Polynesian dance including traditional hula and Tahitian styles. She has performed live in many venues throughout BC, participating in shows for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, “For the Hell of It,” Fashion with Compassion, “For the Luv of It,” and annual Canada Day celebrations. She has worked on screen in local television commercials for PGTV and in Sony’s Ash Koley “Brighter at Night” video. Keilani’s international training includes scholarships to New York with Pushing Progress and Alvin Ailey, while she has also traveled to L.A. to train at the EDGE Performing Arts Center and the Millennium Dance Complex. Recently she has had the opportunity to work with company members from MOVE, 605 Collective, and Ruckus. She is ecstatic to have the opportunity to share her passion for movement on the Vancouver dance scene.

Krystal Kohan is a diverse dancer, choreographer, and teacher with a resume that boasts’ both a BFA in dance from SFU and eight years as the artistic director of North Otter Society of Performing Arts. As an artist Krystal has been known to bring movement alive through an expressiveness that comes from the heart. She has been awarded numerously for her artistry and choreographic talent throughout the lower mainland. As a performer Krystal has had the opportunity to tour throughout BC and internationally in France, Ukraine, Austria and Hong Kong, Macau. Her credits include the SCDT directed by Kelly Konno, “Uprising” with Move:The company, Sony’s- Ash Koley’s music video, Right to Play events, Olympic torch relay and Celebrations in 2010 at Holland Park and broadcasted on Shaw tv, City tv, and Global. As an artist in Vancouver Krystal drives to inspire and be inspired.

Glynis is involved in Vancouver’s artistic scene as a dancer and instructor. Known for her infectious positive energy, Glynis is inspired by the way the body can move and the joy that comes from each shape and expression. A graduate of Grant MacEwan Theatre Arts Diploma, her credits include lead and supporting roles in various stage performances such as, “Wizard of Oz”, “On the Town”, and “Hot Mikado”. Training in multiple styles of dance as well as voice, Glynis has been featured in festivals and theatres in Alberta and British Columbia. Most recently Glynis was a dancer in “Brighter at Night”, a music video with Insider Films and Sony. Glynis is ready to expand her knowledge and share her passion as a performer.

After years of extensive training, Hanna is emerging as a professional dancer in a wide range of genres. She is trained in hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theatre, ballet, contemporary, salsa and ballroom. Her love for the performing arts also includes singing and acting which has allowed her to take the stage in a variety of venues. Being a dual citizen of Canada and the United States has opened doors of opportunity for her to train all the way from Los Angeles, California to Vancouver, BC. In addition to training and performing Hanna enjoys teaching and welcomes each opportunity to do so that comes her way.

Open-minded, determined and business oriented is the best way to describe Heather Aucoin. At the age of 5 she began to get in touch with her heritage of Highland Dancing, since then she has expanded and continues to train in styles such as; Jazz, ballet, lyrical, modern, contemporary, salsa, ballroom, and urban styles.

Heather has completed her Intermediate Checcetti Ballet exams, as well as Scottish Award 5 exams for both Highland and National in Highland Dance.

Heather has trained with a wide variety of teachers as well as choreographers over the years at various studios, conventions and workshop, which has allowed herself to grow as a person and dancer. She has competed in many competitions in Highland, winning awards such as overall points for the day, any many other aggregate trophies that show her hard work.

In 2009, Heather was asked to go to Taiwan, where she performed at the International Keelung Mid-Summer Ghost Festival. She was put to the test of dancing on a floating stage, on the side of a mountain and had the honour of dancing for the president of Taiwan.

Currently she is training in the scholarship program at Drive Dance Centre. Where she has had opportunities, to dance in Marianas Trench music video, "Celebrity Status," many short films such as "The Education of Wendy Winconsin," "Dance Is Contagious," and "Tomorrow, or Someday"

She was also lucky enough to have the experience of dancing in the closing ceremonies of Vancouver 2010 Olympics. As a mountie, she performed along side Michael Bublé and other "Made In Canada" cast members.

Heather’s passion, open-mindedness, determination, and hard work will make her successful as she ventures into her professional career.

She has performed in live shows such as “For The Luv of It,” The 2010 Closing Ceremonies as a Mountie along side Michael Buble, The International Ghost Festival in Taiwan, As well as dancing for the band Delhi 2 Dublin throughout BC, and Taiwan.

She was cast as a principal dancer in Stef Lang’s music video “Slave2Love,” and can be seen in other music videos and films such as Marianas Trench, and Ash Koley, 72hr Film Festival and Crazy 8’s Productions.

Heather is excited to perform, choreograph and grow as she ventures into her career as a professional dancer.
